Default LT Headers

I am starting to gather some Info on LT headers as I plan to buy some in the comming months. In my searching I have found that most cost 1200 or so for a complete kit. However, I have come across the Granatelli ones that cost under 600. Does anyone have any experence with these? If the gains are going to be similar I would really like to save 600. HERE is a link to them.

Does anyone have any gains shown from these?
Will they clear the CHE K member brace?
How is the fit?

I have no experience with the Granatellis.

However, having looked at that link you posted, they look extremely similar to the Dynatech setup, which I have installed and is top-notch.

BUT the price is shockingly low! You might want to check with Lethal Performance and see if that price is actually correct (maybe they forgot a "1" at the beginning!).

I mean, it's hard enough to buy a pair of cats for $300. But to get a whole set of 304 headers WITH CATS for that price? That's incredible. I say it's too good to be true. I think there is something wrong with the listing.

If there's not a problem, and that's actually what you're getting, then jump on it!

The gains from genuine longtubes will be very similar regardless of brand. I have installed 3 different brands on various cars, and the HP gains were within 1-2 HP of each other. That's less than the expected error of the Dyno.

I didnt know that Granatelli even made LTs. I agree with the last post, if that is actually posted on the website - error or not, they have to accept your payment. If its a misprint, anyone after they fix it...is SOL.

I would jump on it man! Seems like a good deal. If you find out later that they arent too good and its a misprint, you could always sell them and make a couple bucks on Ebay.

A few more thoughts going on here:

I just googled for "GM-EH0507" which is the Granatelli part number for these headers. A few other vendors are listing them for a very similar price to the above link (about $600). Does this mean the price is really about that? Perhaps it does!

However, something else is bugging me. The photo that is shown at one of the other vendors (Blow By Racing) is very different from the one listed in Riven's link (which matches Granatelli's web site).

In fact, I am convinced that the header kit that is shown in the photo on Granatelli's web site (same as on Riven's link) is actually a Dynatech set. There are many little clues, including the red "not California legal" tag that is attached to the right header, and the "ball and socket" collector-to-cat joint, which is very distinctive.

Some strange stuff going on here....

The Dynatech is like $1200, right? Thats a hell of a difference.....and these appear to be the same thing, why not just get these?

Cheaper is cool - but almost half the price. It just makes you wonder what the catch is. Dont get me wrong, I am all about a bargain.... but it still leaves the question in the back of your mind.

The Dynatech sets are very good. I have installed two Dynatech sets, one Kooks and one American Racing. The Dynatech is just as good, if not better, than those other brands.

If this Granatelli set really is a similar product and the price really is correct at about $600, it's a a killer deal.

I'm just wondering what the heck is up with the price. I mean, ANY brand of stainless headers with cats & hpipe and all that is over $1000. Why is this one so cheap? It really makes me wonder what's up!
