T3650 5th gear is .62
You keep saying OD is 0.62 on the T3650. The only spec. sheets I have seen for them show they are 0.68.

Did Ford change this? Where are you getting your specs from?

Thx,

Mike

How's 4:10's for the auto? I'm really thinking about getting it.
Go 3.73's for an auto since it has an OD of 0.75. You will tach approximately 2500 @ 75 and 2000 at 60.

4.10's are a bit too much for an automatic, but are perfect for the manual which has an OD of 0.68.

With 3.73's in an auto and 4.10s in a manual, they are basically geared the same. Technically the automatic will have a slightly lower gear ratio, but it ain't that much:

Manual final drive ratio = 4.10 X 0.68 = 2.788

Automatic final drive ratio = 3.73 X 0.75 = 2.7975

As you can see, the automatic with 3.73's has a slightly lower gear (higher number) than the manual with 4.10s.

i always thought stock was 3.27, is it really 3.55 stock?
05-06 5 speed 3.55
07+ 5 speed 3.31s

all s197 auots are 3.31

new edges were 3.27

so i just talked to my dad, he has an 07 GT 5 speed. I told him that he had 3.31's after reading that...and he said that He has 3.55's. He said hes almost 100% sure because he read it somewhere with all the specs on the 07+ Maybe he read this before they decided to put 3.31's in the 07's??? Any ideas?

The 3.55's are an option on the 07 5 speeds. Like 150.00 bucks extra.

I have 4:10's on my 06 auto and love em. I don't do a bunch of highway driving but even on a couple of 150 -200 mile trips I didn't notice a huge drop in mileage. Around town the mileage drops some but that is probably due to my uncontrollable urge to hear my tires chirp when shifting to second with the hammer down

Close... Only the 05-06 GT COUPE, 5 speed came with 3.55s. The 05-06 GT VERT, 5 speed came with the 3.31 just like the auto. The only way you could get the 3.55 in 05-06 was a GT, 5 speed, COUPE.
