HP vs. Looks

RE: HP vs. Looks
same here; my first sport car was a 3000gt (222hp) and i though that car was fast. Now i have this car that can go side ways any time and hood just flys up durning wot. But the great thing about mustangs are if you want a faster mustang...it just takes green(i think the new camero/chall should have fun w/ the GT500; gl chevy guys w/ that beast) Not that i dont like other cars; i love the new Z06! that another bang for the buck super car but i still like my 27G 300hp Stang that can always come faster.

RE: HP vs. Looks
I think hands down the looks rule over anything else. Ford hit a home run with this car and the way they brought the retro look back with such flare. The cars are so sexy it makes other so called new cars look stupid!
What else out there less a new vet has looks that can compete? Maybe if the new Camaro ever comes to pass it will be as nice looking but until I see one driving down the street it is only speculation and a concept car.
Maybe we could have gotten more power from Ford from jump? Most all would agree with that but for under 30K for most with a car that looks so good and has a desent amount of power is a deal to me. JMO Just think of whats around the corner say,,,2009 or 2010? Just imagine the possibilities.

RE: HP vs. Looks
Even though my last car was a 1994 Camaro, I didn't buy this because the Camaro was discontinued. I bought my Mustang for the looks(mainly). As soon as I saw what the Mustangs were going to look like starting w/ the '05 models I knew that this was my next car. It was just a matter of when I was going to buy it, I ended up getting it on January 7, 2006 about a week after my birthday(so it was a late birthday present to myself).

RE: HP vs. Looks
I bought mine for the combo of those choices. I wanted a V8 with the muscle car sound. I thought the new stangs looked great and the build quality and the INTERIOR was way better. The outside looks great but if I don't like sitting in the car I won't want to drive it daily. The power was not impressive at first but that was because of what car I was giving up for it. However, I knew the GT has a good base and the modification choices are huge. You can turn this car into what ever you want, drag car, road racer, drifter, show car, etc.

RE: HP vs. Looks
Hmmmm....interesting question. Ya know, I've wanted a Mustang since I first saw a spy photo of an '82 GT back in mid '81, with my 16th birthday just after X-Mas '81(meaning driver's license!!!!), I asked my Dad if we could at least take a peek.(I already knew what his response would be........ARE YOU CRAZY!!!!). Well...sitting in that Recaro seat equipped, T-Topped and jet black GT.....talk about a life changing experience. I just knew one day I'd have one. Well the 80's rolled along and so did college, got tempted in late '85 on a left over GT(canyon red over grey for $10,600), but insurance would've killed me. Next the '93 Cobra(still, someday, gonna get one), but at $22,000 in 1993(the regular GT was about $15K or so and the new for '93 Z/28 was about $17-18K) was just toooooo expensive at the time. Actually thought about an SN95 in late '94, but just couldn't come to terms with the styling....ditto for the New Edge. Saw a prototype S197 in early '04(was a V-6) and I followed it for about 10 miles, I was hooked! At first I was gonna buy a V-6, coming from a 10 year affair with small trucks, the V-6 was a major upgrade in power......but every freakin' dealer in SoCal in late '04/early '05 wanted an arm and a leg for the new Mustang....I waited them out until the spring of '05(March) and made the effort to see if I could get a GT at sticker(most were going for over $5,000 over MSRP). Got my deal and recently traded the '05 for an '06 and yes, I'll admit, once you get used to the power level, more is wanted. It never stops......Argh! I guess because of it's performance car status, everyone with a hint of performance in their car wants to challenge you. Good thing is, we all have a car that can be made to run, handle and look as good as anything out there IMO. What more could anyone ask for?
