Default Hurst Shifter Ball Info

For those of you who have installed the Hurst 5 speed, short throw shifter, but aren't too pleased with the white ball with your dark Mustang interior, here is some info to get a black Hurst ball for your shifter. You have to be careful when you order a black ball if you want Hurst on the side since some have it and some don't. The Hurst part number for the black, 5 speed shifter ball with Hurst on the side is: 1630125. The ball is supposed to fit all Hurst shifters and is 3/8 x 16 thread. You won't find this part at any retailers so it's hard to find. You can special order it from Jegs. I've got one on the way and it will be $36.98 delivered to my door. I talked to Brian at Jegs and he was very helpful. If you prefer a polished aluminum T bar Hurst handle, the Hurst part number for that is 1530026 and that's available at retailers so you won't have to ask for a special order on that one.

I think the black ball will look much better with my dark charcoal interior so the white ball will become a paperweight. Somebody suggested that I get an actual 8 ball from a sporting goods store and drill it to fit, but I thought that would be too big...unique and cool, but too big.

Any options for getting the same ball "thread size", but larger? Similiar to or close to a Pool Ball?

Thanks

Not sure. The first time I ordered a black Hurst ball, it was the wrong thread size (it was for the stock 05+ Mustang shifter) and the ball was bigger than the one that comes with the Hurst shifter. I originally thought the white Hurst shifter ball was a little small, but I got used to it. Probably the easiest way to find out is ask a tech question on Mr. Gasket's website (they own Hurst). They usually respond in a day or so.

Does the ball say Hurst on the side? If it does, good for you because I couldn't find it online at any of Hurst's retailers. The first black Hurst ball that I ordered didn't say Hurst on the side, plus the thread size was wrong so I sent it back. The funny thing was, before I ordered it, I asked Hurst first if the ball said Hurst on the side since the picture didn't show it and they said that all their shifter ***** say Hurst buy that's not true.

I don't think I ever seen one with Hurst on the side. Could you post a pic?
