RE: getting rid of the cats affect the warranty???
YES, it does void the engine warranty.
In fact, removing the cats is a Federal crime for anyone. Can result in fines up to $2,500 (seldom enforced at present).
What Reasons Can the Manufacturer Use to Deny a Warranty Claim?
If your vehicle is within the age and mileage limits for the
applicable emissions warranty, the manufacturer can only deny coverage
if evidence shows that you have failed to properly maintain and use
your vehicle, causing the part or emission test failure. Some
examples of misuse and maintenance include the following:
* vehicle abuse such as off-road driving or overloading; or
* tampering with emission control parts or systems, including
removal or intentional damage of such parts or systems; or
* improper maintenance, including failure to follow maintenance
schedules and instructions specified by manufacturer, or use of
replacement parts which are not equivalent to the originally
installed parts.

RE: getting rid of the cats affect the warranty???
ok here is the deal. taking ur cats off and getting the mil eliminators will not hurt your car. technically it should only void the warranty with anyting pertaining to ur exhaust. with ford, if you for some reason blow your motor and dont have ur cats, even if the offroad mid-pipe is not the cause, will still try to blame ur offroad mid-pipe for the problem. so basically taking ur cats off should not "void" ur warranty, but beware of ford blaming anything on u not having cats.

So Ford denies warranty service on the engine because of the removed cats and you decide to fight it.
Realize that under present Federal law it is a criminal offense to remove the cats, it's a criminal offense to knowingly drive a "tampered" car on public road and that it is a criminal offense for the dealer to perform any service on the engine without first restoring the car to a legal condition.
If you want to try to fight that in court or arbitration, be my guest.
Simple rule...If your worried about a warranty, don't do mods. Or in the words of Baretta, "Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time".
