Default Which Short-Throw

OKay after much deliberation I've finally decided to get a short-throw shifter but the only problem is I don't know which one to purchase of the wide variety of brands available...so i'm going to have to ask for peoples help that have a short-throw and which brand that you have....thanks -Russ

Limer - I have a "B&M" short throw and like it, but I like the 5.0 in MusiccityGT's car better - JMO

Every one who has a shifter will like his brand except the ones who tried both,

you have the hurst = great classic look, nice shifting ( but there are no stop bolts )

the hurst plus = is still coming out sometime soon ( will have stop bolts and will be aluminum and that cool stuff )

the pro 5.0 = stock look but great shifting and easy to install.

the tri-ax = made by steeda ... great shifter except your going to face hard time installing it.. other than that friends like it...

b&m .... was in the shops too soon .. it reduces and helps shifting yeah .. but im not satisfied with it ( just my .2 cent )

I havent owned or tried any of these.. but thts what i have heard about them ... music city gt owns a 5.0 pro ... he loves it.. I will get it for sure but I like the hurst look more... so im waiting for the hurst plus...

I have the Tri-Ax as well, and I think the thing is awesome. And I have never had any problems hitting 3rd at all. I know everybod has there favorite, but personally I love mine and I think it was money well spent.

I can assure you that u that u won't miss third with a tri-ax. The shifter almost automatically leaps for third. I do miss 5th on occasion.

I've got the Tri-Ax and I had plenty of opportunities to miss gears last weekend and did not miss once. A couple places on the track (most notably a turn that requires a 3-2 shift and then a quick 2-3 shift) were easy with this shifter versus the stock unit. And the TriAx is quite well built.

5th has smoothed out but reverse takes a bit of attention still...not that I go backwards often [8D].

Also, not sure where the difficulty installing the TriAx came from - it was really a piece of cake to install...took me all of about 45 minutes (once I had all the tools I needed - including a beer run).
