the stock limiter is at 6250.

i'd say 6500 is pushing it.

I want about 7200. What do I need to do?

[edit]
Actually, I want about 8500, but I figure I might as well try to stay close to reality.

To go over 8k you'll need:

valve springs
high-flow oil pump... may want an oil cooler too
Cooling upgrades.

May need to blueprint the short-block

+1. at least full valvetrain work. maybe some cams that'll actually give power that high. high flow oil pump and cooler a must. and cooling upgrades yes. probably want to balance and blueprint everything. i think that'd do it.

but why go that high without the cams to make that power?

And why do you think you want to rev to 8500rpms? Did you just grab that number out of thin air or is there reason you want to window your block? One thing for sure... You will NOT do it repeatedly with stock internals, even IF there was no rev limiter.

Because of this. But I could certainly settle for this.

Unless I can get some kind of exhaust put together to mimic it. Any ideas?
