Save yourself money.. Go purchase a Saleen Short Throw Adapter Block & Steeda Poly Bushings.... Believe me, it's worth it and will reduce the throw around 28%, -/+1.

I've driven all three ways and for the money definitely do this.... If money is not a factor and you want the "White" ****, etc.. go for the Hurst. I prefer the Steeda however if I was going to HAVE to purchase the entire set-up.

For what its worth..

I have the Saleen shifter kit and I don't think it is that great. It is short and notchy. For the most part it feels good for everyday driving, but when I am slamming the gears it just dosn't cut it. Not like my buddies tri- ax in his 04

Did you change out your bushings and set the screw in well? ,,adjust after driving few thousand miles to make sure bolt still as you like it? If applicable -- ofcourse red-lock was utilized on mine with it basically strong hand, tight. [:@] Definitely a shorter throw, but the "Notchy" feelings are very minimal, especially when you're daily driver and making sure when you WOT that you strong arm it! Worth it getting to those gears faster and not rowing a boat! Worth the money however..........

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'm going with the Hurst. The Tri-ax sounds like a great shifter but I hear its a bit stiff for daily driving. Plus I drove my buddy's Mach 1 with the Hurst, I really liked it. If anyone else wants to chime in, dont hold back.

You can't replace the stock stick, but you could replace the handle with a white ball. Just buy the hurst.

I like my hurst shifter and it helped me with third gear shifts, but i'm getting the che torque limiter brace to help even more. If you get the hurst be sure to use some locktite and don't over tighten the bolts. Except for the screws that hold the stick on, i cranked those suckers down and never had a problem with them coming loose. Others have had problems with them causing a rattle because they loosened up.

The hurst shifter is great, I've had it now for over 6 months, and I love it.

The only downside to the Hurst is it doesn't have built in stops. The Steeda Tri-axle and the Pro 5.0 have built in stops so when you are really slamming gears (I.E. drag strip.) you don't harm the transmission. But for daily driving, it's really nice. Granted, the Saleen short throw kit is cheaper, but I love the longer, chrome handle and the white ball.

Just my $.02.

I'm pretty sure on the Hurst now. The only thing is I noticed that handle is longer. I like how short the handle is on the stock shifter. Too bad you can get a shorter handle with the hurst.
