A local guy is running 275/40/17's on his auto-x car and they work fantastic. He did really well this year and placed 2nd overall at the nationals

I just put 275/40/17 on my 17x8 5 split spoke wheel, no problems at all. The place i installed it at said they had to stretch the tire just a little bit.

Hey VanWilder, that hood is definitely not stock. It's great looking! Who makes it?

you guys do realize taht sticking such fat tires on a skinny rim will kill your handling stability? i think 235 is enough for a 8 inch rim. although due to money issues i may stick a 255 on my stock 8 inches

even if i had 9s i would stretch the 235, or just do a 255.

if i had 10s i would do 275s

Was he running 8 inch wide rears? I doubt it. I am running faulken azenis 275/40/17 and I am really impressed with them. Oh this is on stock 17x8's because I still haven't found the rims for the 18 inch tires I bought 315's ^^

275s are not wide enough for a 10in rim...my buddy had 275/35zr18s on a 18x10 and the wheel was wider than the tread...now he's running 315/30zr18s its a much better fit...for a 10in rim id go 295 or bigger...just my .02
