Advise on rear tires
Today I ordered the titanium CAI with the brenspeed tune the violater cat back and the steeda strut tower brace. My next move is to go 3.73 in the rear (AUTO) I wanted to go with an 18" rear tire set to get more rubber on the road. What do you guys think?[8D]

I would stay with the 17's so you'll get more out of the gearing. ...

It depends on the tire size you put on.

Rubber is more important than diameter. Buy a set of drag radials. I recommend Nitto 555's as they are good street tires, great track tires and have a stiff enough sidewall to keep it sticky in the corners.
This will improve every facet of performance better than any change in wheel diameter will. Tires are everything

Not true. stock 17 diameter is 27" stock 18" diamter is 27" give or take a tenth. Gearing will equate to the same

The only reason to go from 17" to 18" wheels is appearance. You can keep the same outside tire diameter on either wheel. Tires for the 18" wheel wil cost a little extra though. Either way, I recommend 275's on a 9" or 9.5" wide wheel. If you increase tire outside diameter, you'll have a teeny-tiny bit more road-contact area, but you have to have your speedo re-calibrated... and it will impact your choice of rear-end gears.
For traction purposes, more significant than tire size, is tire type. You need to switch to soft compound tires. However, all high-traction (soft compound) tires will put you down into the 10k miles range (or less depending on how you drive). I like the BFG KD-series tires better than Nitto's.
Beware, tire traction ratings (AA) are based on straight-line stopping distance on a wet road. In my case for example, I mostly want cornering g's on a dry surface. You also need to consider the road conditions where you're driving. Many racing tires are dangerous on wet roads.

All are good points I am going to look for a set of 17 inch wheels like I have for the rear but in a 9 inch width. I want to keep the side wall the same but would like more meat on the road. I have the 07 bullit rims with the silver powder coat and polished outer ring.

So anyone know what is the widest tire I can put on the back of my stock 18" polished aluminum wheels? I also would not like to decrease or increase the tire wall....stock is 235/50/18. Thanks in advance!!!
