Default Dash rattle leads to new airbag?!

I brought my Mustang GT in for the 10k mile service today and had them look at a rattle that is coming from the passenger side of the dash. I have the aluminum dash and when it rattles I can press on the part where it says airbag and it will stop. Anyways, they told me that the part cannot be fixed and to replace it requires them to order a whole new airbag that it's attached to. It is covered under warranty, so it's no big deal to me, but it seems drastic to replace a $700 airbag to fix an interior rattle. Is my dealer crazy or is this really the only way?

They may have a point with the integrated airbag thing.

Personally, when it comes to safety parts...I'd rather have them install new, than dork around and potentially fk up existing parts. Especially if during their fat-fingering they overlook something important. Like...reconnecting the power to the airbag...

Dude, passengers are expendable.

Just kidding, but I have that same bs issue. I was thinking it was coming from the far right a/c vent though (when i push on it the rattle stops). I fkn hate rattles, I hate them so much. I brought my car in and they said "well, we test drove it and we didn't hear anything". Bastards...
Now I have one in my driver's side door handle too. I should have them fix all this crap before I go too mod crazy

They told me that they didn't hear it the first time I brought the car in 5k miles ago. This time I drove their with no heat on because it is worse in the cold and they were finally able to hear it.

If I wasn't so freaking busy........lazy, busy, yeah.....anyway, if I was that...I'd take all the panels apart myself and fix them, rather than have the guy at the shop do it...

IDK...Even when it's a quality mechanic, I still have problems with people touching my...my baby...you know?
