finally ran my buddy w/ a 99 SS ls1 last night. went from about a 70 mph kick. it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. he has slp long tubes, a lid, hypertech programmer and 3.73's. he only got a car on me by the time i let out well into 4th gear. he dyno'd 340 at the wheels and my GT is bone stock. i wanted to run and see what i had against him stock before i did any changes after Christmas. i think with a cold air kit and a 93 octance tune it will be a a different story next time we line up

I wonder what gear he started the run in, because he should be putting down about 80 rwhp more than you. Does he have an auto?

Yeah .. he should have smoked you.. those things are fast.. have a bud with one...
I haven't gone up against him.. but have been in it.. just seems A LOT faster than mine.. ???

thier autos stock are just as fast as their 6 speeds, with equal gears the auto will have the edge, and a stall and gears with a shift kit an auto will flat out rape a 6 speed, unlike fords POS trannys[&o]

LID and exhaust those are good for mid 12s

I agree... my buddy also has one. He has an intake, exhaust, programmer, throttle body, headers, cams, and gears. It was hard to breath when he got on it. It felt like my lungs were being sucked out of my back. Those things are really fast.. especially one with mods like you said. Maybe he started in the wrong gear.

in my old '90 couple w/ bolt on's i still had to hose 75 HP to run side by side w/ him. i have to make my new stang run w/ him with all motor and hopefully as inexpensively as possible since i now have the big@$$ payment each month. i'm leaning towards a diablo predator and jlt CAI for starters

+1 to Justin at VMP, getting my dyno tune early January. I would honestly go with SCT over Diablo, you will get better numbers.
