How do we fare against STIs?
Never raced one or driven, my friend has one, and everyone I know insist he will demolish me. I know this isn't the case, he may beat me, but comeon, demolish? I need stories!

If he is stock and you can drive, you will have him, from a dig or roll.
Stock STi's "can" hit low 13's, but not likely. Same **** around my school man, SRT-4 at my school(No muffs, and a few basic thinigs) everyone says it will blow my doors off, but we are 1-1.

take out your fathers GT and you can't lose...lol. In all seriousness, stock for stock they cost about 6k more, and are already turbocharged so it'll be tough since they weigh so much less. For the 6k extra they cost you could put a supercharger/turbocharger on your baby and do circles around it.
With all that said, I say you have a chance depending on your skills as a driver, it's close though.

I man-handled STI's at the track before I crashed my car at the track going side-ways when going into second gear... This was before my header install, udps, and cams. Now my car will just be sitting in the garage waiting for repairs maybe a month or two.
Anyway stock for stock, it's a drivers race. With mild mods both ways it's still a drivers race.

Stock for Stock, driver's race, (in the 1/4 mile).
Both have 300 HP at the shaft. AWD loses more through parasitic loss than RWD, but AWD launches a HELL of a lot better, (you have to have a LOT of HP to spin in AWD).
Gut the STi downpipe, (or install catless DP),and there will be some trouble, (better be a much better driver than the STi).
Put a CAI and a tune on the GT and it is now in the Mustang's court
Go to Cobb Stage 2 on the STi and the GT is looking at tailights late.
You can always mod to be faster...

i beat an STI at track.. actually i demolished him but he wasn;t a good driver and ran 14s. i have the timeslip somewhere.. i think if STI driver knows how to launch, i can;t beat one from a dig, but from a 20mph or 40mph, i might get them!
