Just ordered....
...my Hurst Short Throw Shifter from Brenspeed hoping for it to be delivered by friday that way I havea nice little weekend project....I'll let you guys know how it turns out....the reason I ordered a sts was because i went to the track last friday and some how i missed 4th and i've never missed a gear in my GT before so I decided I finally had to get rid of the stock shifter....

RE: Just ordered....
I'm looking for a non-retro looking short throw that isn't a pain to install. I'd like a tri-ax but I hear they are a pain to get in correctly. How long does it take to install a short throw and are there any special tools or processes involved? I like my stock shift ****, that's why I was looking at the tri-ax, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Sorry to hijack! Hah.

Install for the hurst was fairly easy, uses factory bolts under shifter and provides two new for shifter, locktite seems to be a necessity. Used a lift haha so It prolly took about 30 minutes overall. One problem that i do have is aligning my ball so it matches up for the gears. To get it tight the gear diagram on the ball is positioned 90 degrees stronger clockwise, it sux, otherwise, awesome ****fter, notchy sort of, and you will receive some excess noise from the tranny, which all of you can get used to in a week or so. Sweet mod for $160

You'll need a deep-socket 10mm too. Also...a foot of extensions doesn't hurt. A little white lithium grease and threadlock. And another tip is....DON'T use a closed end ratcheting wrench on the front shifter arm bolt. I found out the hard way. IDIOT!
I might recommend using red locktite as my blue stuff was very runny and was really tough to work with underneath my car. It pretty much ran right of the threads before I could do anything about it. Soooo, I'm not so sure I won't be redoing my work.
