Default 400rwhp naturally????

Hey guys, I know this has already been discussed but Blow By Racing has supposedly gotten 406 rwhp naturally on our 3v 4.6L with there heads, cams, intake, exhaust, throttle body and all those goodies.
Do you all think this is possible?? Some say BBR is full of **** but what is the truth?

If you haven't already seen it check out the vid:

http://www.blowbyracing.com/video.html

Tell me what you all think. By the way this was on RACE GAS, whatever that is.

I think it is possible to hit 400 RWHPusing the 4.6L N/A. However, it will also take a lot of expensive mods and very careful tuning. At the moment, even if it is possible, it is not practical.

A supercharger would bea cheaper means of getting just as much (if not more) power.

+1 I'm not sure a 3V can get there yet, but they can get close and it is very expensive.Maybe after a few more years of aftermarket development. It would be cheaper and easier to install a blower.

FWIW I know a guy with a 4V 99 Cobra with FR500 Heads, FR500 Intake, a bored over 4.6L, higher compression ratio, upgraded cams, and he is putting down well over 400 rwhp completely N/A. It cost him a lot of money to go that route, and it is a 4V after all.

What is the best RWHP you can get out of an 05+ mustang gt with CAI, tune, gears, UDPs, and new pipe ?

Assuming you have a manual trans, you are about 260-265 RWHP stock. Adding CAI/tune is 25-30 HP. UDPs is another 10. Gears don't affect HP, so that's 0.

So at this point you'd be at about 300 RWHP (approximate)

I don't really know what you mean by "pipe"? I'm assuming you mean exhaust? Exhaust could be anywhere from nothing (mufflers only) to25 HP (longtubes with an off-road midpipe). An offroad midpipe only is about 10 HP tops.

Thanks for the info CrazyAl you've been very helpful. Now what about an automatic ? you said 300RWHP approximate for a manual trans. would the auto be far behind ? thanks again !

maybe with a 75 shot of juice, but would that still be "N/A"? I think not! Like others have said you might go over, say, 350HP but it costs too much money. I know we N/A guys try to get the most of our cars by doing mods here and there, just because dropping $6000 for a S/C is just outta the question for some of us.

The auto will make a few less HP than the manual due to the higher parasitic losses inside the auto trans. Perhaps 5-10 HP less?

Then again, it's not as if the auto is any slower--after all, it can shift faster than any manual trans--but on the dyno it will read a little lower.

I have those exact mods + a water pump and Im at 289 wrhp with 303 ft pds torque. If my car was a five speed, id have to guess I would be up around 310wrhp. Anyone disagree?
