Default Cold dry day helped performance dramatically!

I drove my car for the first time in a week or so today. Its a cold but dry and sunny day. We've had very cold and snowy recent weather (metro Detroit) and the roads have been salty. I swear I almost lost it when I punched it from a dig. I layed 2 strips of rubber 20 feet long at least. This is an automatic mind you. I was fishtailing most of the way but didn't let up. I had been driving for about 30 min. and just got off the freeway so I know the tires were warmed up. The road was totally dry and straight as a drastrip. My car has always seemed fast but this has put a grin on my face that won't go away. Any comments guys.

Yep I have noticed the same thing. It is especially thrilling after driving my 94 F150 for about a week or so!

Comment? Yes, why are you driving your baby on salt covered roads? And yes cool dry air does make more HP!

It was after a couple days of nice dry weather, cold but dry, roads clear of salt.

The road may have been dry but it was still coverd in salt. I also live in Michigan and just because the road is dry does not makethe salt gone. It needs to rain a couple of times to wash it off the roads. Just my 2 cents, it's your car do with it want you want.

After thinking it over I came to the same conclusion. I took notice of the dust blown up by passing cars and I know it wasn't all dirt, it was also pulverized salt. But I'm not going to stop driving it on sunny days. Its too much fun. Rain and snow I won't drive it.
