Default No Headers?

Was gonna buy some long tube headers, and replace the entire stock exhaust with a good system, and the rep at Steeda told me it's a waste of time unless I'm getting a SC...which I'm not. I want to get the really good growly sound, and he told me it's a waste of money--only 4-5 hp gains...and that the '06 stock headers have high enough flow. Is he smokin' his socks? Accurate? Anyone test this?

If your looking for sound, I dont see why you would not want to do it. I would also think you would get more than 5-6hp. Now if you said you were going with shorty headers I would say dont do it.

I'm not 100% but I would think he was wrong.

He must've been talking about shorties. LTs will give you 15-24rwhp. Shorties would only be worth it with a turbo, not a SC, and even then, the OEM manifolds flow pretty good for a turbo.

See, from a sound standpoint, sounds freakin' great! Plus, if there is something to be gained for it, why not.

Are LT headers for off road use only? I want to stay legal...and the JBA website says they're off road only.

No LTs are legal, catted or O/R. We're not allowed to alter any aspect of emission parts on a vehicle, and LTs change the position of the cats. Although it's Fedral Law, this is rarely enforced. Not sure where you are, but highflow cats will normally pass the tailpipe sniffer test.
