Im plannin on putting Dynatech Longtube headers and a catted dynatech x pipe with my magnaflow cat back I already have on the car. I already have a Steeda high velocity CAI with an SCT tune. I also plan on putting underdrive pulleys and changing the throttle body. I also want to buy an elbow for the intake. Last, I am putting FRPP 4.10 gears in the back. How much will this get me? (estimate/range?)

A custom tune is one where a tuner (B amachips, Brenspeed, Evo etc) ask you for other mods you have and them actually write a tune for YOUR specific car. Yes you can load it into another car, but it is meant for your car only. This is similar to what a dyno tuner can do. Gains are very good. For just a CAI and tune you can get 25-28 HP.
A dyno tune is best because they actually have your car and write a tune for it and it can be loaded into a tuner so you can still return to stock when visiting the dealer. Gains are the best here. They can adjust your air/fuel ratio to exactly where it should be.

CAI and tune is worth 25-28 HP....if it was 30+ then everyone would have 300 HP easily and most of us strive to find the mod that puts us there besides the CAI and tune.

you state in your sig you also have a x pipe and no cats....so that can add some HP too, 8-10+ i have heard......I am not saying with a dyno tune you cant get to 300 with just a CAI and tune. But no way with a canned or even custom mail tune really unless it just happened to be absolutely perfect.

Is that tune a "canned" tune or from Brenspeed, B ama or some place....
with a 5-spd I'm at 303 with C&L w/ 91 octane tune from C&L predator and Steeda UDPs...

Take this with a grain of salt, but when I had my tune put in a my car dynoed on a Mustang Dyno they ran two 1/4 mile simulations of 12.72 @ 107 mph and another at 12.78 @ 107 mph. Now that sounds a little quickto me even with the 3:73 rear and custom tune. I was expected more like a 13.20 to 13.30 range since it is a convertible which is 150 lbs or so heavier than a coupe. Anybody else out have about the same set-up and have actually ran theirs on the track where it really matters.
