RE: Afraid of breaking my GT
i just rev up to 4 and slip the clutch very fast. never a problem...not to much smoke; but plenty of tire marks...
and chirping into 2nd real easy. Just max out 1st gear and shift real fast into second(just drop your clutch)

I babied mine the first 1000. Then had her first service. Got her home and disconnected the battery for an
hour. That resets the computer back to factory. If you baby her , the car will think thats the way you normally
drive. Reconnected battery , and drove like I stole her. No problems after 5000 miles.

Don't feel bad, I'm the same way. My last car was a Z28 with the LT1 motor. Gobs of bottom end and felt much master than my 06 GT off the line but It would soon run out of steam after about 3000 rmp. I have never hada high revving motor like this and I'm always afraid to take it over 4000 rmp thinking I'm going to through a rod or something. I was tring to chirp second at 3500 with the tune and cold air and couldn't do it. I thought something was wrong. From what I have read you have to be at at least 5000 and I still havn't tried it.....

I got mine sideways while the saleman wasin the passenger seat, he just kinda giggled for a few seconds...
Also, all stock 'cept for the Borla Stingers, I have been able tochirp itin third too, but you gotta commit to it...hard. Beat it like a red-headed step child.

I've had the car for over a week now and I still haven't even chirped the tires. I turned off the TCS to see what would happen from a stop sign, but I bailed on the rpm's at the last second. Is it easy to do a burnout with this car without hurting the clutch to much?
I should add that I've been babying this car since I got it. And it's not my intention to burn the wheels off of her. I just never had a car that could spin the back wheels. Probably because they were all front wheel drive. Lol.
