Default MPG increase

anybody find this weird?

With all my aftermarkets I have on my car, I have been averaging 19-20 MPG on my commute from South Houston to Conroe...(about a 65 mile drive one way; all highway)...Beginning of last week, I purchased the intake elbow from steeda. Since then, the last two tanks I have gone through, I have averaged just over 25 MPG...when i filled up this morning, my odometer had 390.4 miles traveled and still had 24 miles to empty.

My driving habits have not changed, average 5th gear around 80 MPH (as well as the occasional punch in 4th) and I have been using gas from the same station the whole time.

So far, this little $100 elbow has proven to be one of the best investments I have bought for my car..haha

May we have a picture of it? Did you have a different elbow to begin with or is the first CAI you have gotten?

Daniel, picture of what? i can take a pic of the elbow if that is what you want. i have no camera here at work so i cant take a pic of the odometer right now. with the Steeda CAI, it is only a replacement from the MAF Sensor forward. It uses the factory rubber elbow. they just came out with the hard plastic 90 degree elbow a few months ago
