Other aftermarket combinations (like Brenspeed, Evolution, Diablo, Predator, etc.) will be cheaper and give you slightly more power (about 10 - 15 h.p.)
10-15 HP is not a FEW HP, that is a BIG amount. Normal CAI and tune from custom tune is 25-28, so your gains with FRPP is around half that. You can pay 1000+ to gain that 10-15 or you can spend as little as 100. Either way 10-15 HP is nothing to sneeze at gaining or losing.
No, the gain from the frpp is rated at 20 h.p. (25 with the added x-pipe). that's why the Shelby GT-H and Shelby 350 are rated at 325 h.p.
So even if you figure 30 h.p. more from just the tune & CAI, then that's only 10 h.p. more than the frpp tune and CAI will give you.
Granted, even 10 h.p. is nothing to sneeze at, but then neither is a fully intact warranty..........

What do you guys have against the slightly less aggressive Ford package?
Haven't you read any of Shanershatch postings about the chances you're taking with these more aggressive tunes...?

as I pointed out once before, the 325 is at the shaft, not rear wheels, so the 25 extra HP on the on the GT-H still has to go throught the drivetrain in which you lose some. The actual RWHP gain will maybe be17-20 with complete package. Take the x-pipe off and you probably only gain around 15-17 RWHP maybe less.

You get 25-28 RWHP with custom tune and CAI from one of the vendors. The difference is 10-15, which is good deal more than the FRPP CAI with tune.

The throttle lag will go away with the FRPP tune but the actual HP gains at the wheels is not as much.

O.K., I understand now what you mean (difference between "shaft" and real wheel h.p.).
But that's still not worth it to me if my warranty is going to be voided- or if I have to re-attach my stock airbox and reflash the stock tune every single time I take her in for service (and pray that they don't find out about it).
Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on the pros & cons of the frpp vs. other aftermarket alternatives...........

forget the swap for the black gt in my opinion and even forget the intake your thinking of, when you buy a tune and a CAI from Doug at B amachips.com he can send you two tunes, and a tune that will return your car back to stock WITH the stock cool air intake, granted this will take a whopping 20 minutes out of your daily life to swap your intakes and reload your stock tune prior to heading to ford for a checkup, and not having to worry about any mod warranty voiding! their comp will have no idea that you have flashed your car, seriously, you wont regret it, and oh yeah the honeycomb panel is sexy, i do like that and this way if you end up getting new gears, you can recalibrate your speedo, win for win!!!

I agree with ditching the GMS for a B ama or Brenspeed. The tuner does become very useful with gears and changing the tire size. It just depends on the future mods i guess.

Perhaps some tie-dyed shirts or an old VW bus.
