hey guys...after a lot of searching and listening to sound clips my gf decided she wants a set of borla stingers (aggressive pn 11750). she's made her mind up so there's no point in offering other suggestions...thanks in advance. my questions are 1) is there any reason to buy the axelback kit that comes with the pipes that run over the axel rather than just buying the mufflers/tips? i can't see why since the s197's have 2.5" inch exhuast stock...2) can anyone save me some time by telling me where to get the best deal on them. thanks guys

i bought the cat back just because you can tell by looking at the after mid pipes that they flow better, if you want to look at a comparison, do a search and type in borla pipes vs stock pipes. as for the system, heres the best price for the cat back www.borladirect.com/home.php

the stock pipes havea crease in them to allow space between the pipes and the rear axle. Its not really that necessary unless you lowered the car and drive on bumpy surfaces. But the Borla pipes are not creased and allow slightly better flow.

Get the FRPP stingers instead, same muffler just lower in price. PMPParts has them for the best price around. I personally dont think that the catback system is worth the extra 200 or so. I love my Stingers!

Check E-bay for the FRPP Stingers. Every now and then you can get them from a race shop at a good price. I think I paid $420 for mine. I know Joe HeckRacing sells them for about $440.. somewhere around there... www.joeheckracing.com
