About to pull the Trigger on 20in rims...
The tire size they are recommending are 255/35R20XL...
any body have an idea how that might look, im not too fond of tire sizes and but i want the profile of the tires to be decently low, is this a good tire size for 20's?

You guys are crazy! That's a 3.5 inch sidewall and 27 inch overall diameter. If 3.5 inches isn't low enough profile for you, then I suggest buying a lighter car or start replacing rims after every pothole.

255/35R20 ... the first 2 numbers are expressed in milimiters.
255 mm or 25.5 cm(10.11 inches) is the width of the tire
35 mm is the sidewall of the tire.
R is for rim size

RE: About to pull the Trigger on 20in rims...
Number on your tires; xxx / xx / xx
The first set of numbers xxx / xx / xx is a measurement in millimeters of your tires width. larger number = wider
The second set of numbers xxx / xx / xx is the aspect ratio. Meaning the percentage of side wall heightto tire width. larger number = taller profile (when comparing apples to apples)
The third set of numbers is xxx / xx / xx is the rim diameter.
When there is a letter at the end of these nubers it's usualy the Speed rating of that tire.
Now every different make of tire is slightly off in these measurements and just because it say xxx/xx/xx they might be slightly different height or width but the rim sizeis correct.

RE: About to pull the Trigger on 20in rims...
Ive got 265/30/20 in the front and 285/30/20 in the rear and love the look and the performace! No problems with the roads or potholes and they are suprisingly smooth and traction is great! I personally should have went with the 35 series tire in the front which is what I will do when these wear out as they are staggered and can't rotate
