I wouldn't be too upset about the Mach 1. Those cars have a very underrated 305hp stock. Probably closer to 320... same engine setup as the 01 Cobras, but with the shaker.... not to mentionit hasabout 150 lbs. lighter curb weight than the S197 GT.

Just to add to what others have said.
Most of the Mach'sdynoed around 280-285 rwhp bone stock. Whereas our S197 GT dyno at about 265-270 bone stock. They weigh a little less than the S197s too, so that is generally why the Mach 1s are usuallyfaster.

dont feel to bad. at least you lost to a legit vehicle. My buddy has a modded 2004 Mach with 4.10 gears that pulled a 1/2 car a C6 vette. that thing is a beast. also my gt is effected alot by weight too. With someone in my car my buddies 04 GTO LS1 pulls about a car and half on me. with someone in his car and nobody in mine i pull about a car on him. Weight is a big deal. anyways ask for a rematch!

I agree...at least you had a run against another Mustang, and not some little rice rocket...There are a lot of imports where I live that I won't bother racing...like a 93 Civic EX h/b with the "Frankenstien" Engine and FI (turbo'd B16 block, and ZC cylinder head from the Integra GSR/Type-R)...

its like this... im tired of people bitching about how a 200-2004 cobra is my daddy and mach's and etc etc... but HONESTLY with the money i spent on my 06 vert.... if i wanted something FASTER i could have EASILY bought one those and still had money left over.....so power isnt the only reason why i went with a 05+ stang
