I hate to say but im not too embarrased bcuz its another mustang...but a few hours ago i rolled up to a red light and i noticed a nother mustang behind me i saw that it was one of the older models...99-04 models, when the light turns green i pull off just to see if he would race and sure enough he pulled right up next to me, and we hit from about a 30 roll...needless to say he kicked my *** by about a car and a half....i spoke with him and he says hes not supercharged he just has a bigger engine then me and he said that his car as more cylinders....but i would expect a stock mach 1 to beat my stock gt anyway, althought i have a intake and exhuast, that dont do much and i dont have it tuned either so you could basically say its stock....

just thought id share that with yall, the mach 1 is a bad b*tch....
this is just more motivation to get forced induction.....

Ummmm that doesn't make any sense.

A stock Mach 1 doesn't have a bigger engine or more cylinders. Unless you have a V6, but your sig says Mustang GT. So you both have 4.6L V8 engines. The only difference is he has 4 valves per cylinder and you have 3 valves per cylinder.

Maybe he swapped in a V10 hahaha, but then he wouldn't be stock.

My bad your right, he said he has more valves....i kinda typed that in a rush, but yeah, also im auto and hes stick, but he says that its stock...i also had 2 friends in the car so thats about 300 not that if i was alone i would have won....

both cars have 300hp stock, the only difference is that the Mach is 4 valves, ours is 3 valve

And yes... when i have 3 friends in my car i feel like i'm dragging a 2 ton rock all the time

I think having an auto and lugging an extra 300+lbs while only losing by 1.5 cars to a Mach 1 5spd is very good. Ditch the friends and ask for a rematch!

What gear were you in?? Wait, just noticed you have an auto.

If you had a stick car, and were in second, I would not be surprised that you lost. Our cars ar very slow froma roll in the bottom of second. I will not run anyone in that range. Either I slow down enough to get into first, or speed up enough to get the tach up to 3500.

I believe the reasons are as follows.

Automatic trans, no engine tune, etc. 3.31 gears. The transprob downshifted tosecond. Had to downshift which costs a little time compared to already being in gear with a stick car. All this stuff matters from a roll. If you have a shaker 1000 or the 18" wheels, that will kill you a little too.

If he has a car with stick, and maybe some bolt ons, I am not surprised at all.

i agree,i have an auto and it sucks from a roll at that speed.do it from a dig and you might beat him.
