Just to let everyone know the project is still on going. Here are a couple of pics of the current state. Got all the water cooling lines for the turbos finished, except for mounting the lines to the chassis as they run back and I am very happy with the way they turned out. I don't like the looks with the SCT MAS the way it fits into the intake tube so we are going to try and make a single section of piping and install the MAS sensor directly in the tube. The mechanical is almost finished just the exterior remains.

The turbos are water cooled? Can you select them not to be water cooled?

I have the ball bearing turbos and they are water cooled. The standard turbos without ball bearings do not require water cooling. The BB turbos require restricted oil lines with less flow. This reduced oil quantity doesn’t allow enough cooling so water lines are used. Most of the newer turbos are BB type as they spool quicker and last longer.

I have been running turbos for a while now. Not on the mustang but yes on the supra, sti and silvia. Just a heads up the main reason why most people dont use Water cooled turbo is that turbos will and always will break no matter what on high boost applications. And a broken water cooled turbo will squirt water to the engine and thats it for the engine. A bad gasket also = death.

IT'S Alive!!!

I started the Beast up for the first time today, just to check for leaks so only ran for a little while. One of these days I'll actually get it finished. Here are a couple shots of how the cold side piping we made came out. What do you guys think?
