They do have the same purpose.

Well, more specifically, camber bolts ONLY adjust camber, whereas the plates can adjust camber and caster. But, the plates are also a lot more expensive.

On a street car the bolts are probably your best choice, but if you Auto-X or do track days, and you know how to set up your suspension properly, then the plates can be an advantage.

The front spring seats aren't worth upgrading unless you already have the more obvious handling mods done. What other mods do you already have?

+1. lots of + camber should get you some front grip if you are racing. other than that, it will kill the tires

Thanks Al and 22 kart! humm I have shocks/struts and spring for the front/rear of the carand I amreplacing most of the rear suspension (although it has not beeninstalled! Al I read most of yourthreads on suspension and have chosen practically all the suspension parts you recomended! ...I am just making sure I have all the right parts and pieces, and seeing what I can replace during installation rather than later! ..for now I do have chamber bots instead of the plates and plan on keeping them...since Ido not particularly road race, and am aweekend 1/4miler I believe thechamber bolts will work more than fine! ......
besides your thoughts on the front spring seats what do you think about replacing the LCA bolt? I read in past threads that you should only use them once! ...Is this for all the bolts, and is this really necessary or should I go to ford and plan on buying all new hardware? thanks and cheers

In my opinion you do not need to replace the LCA bolts. The stock ones work fine.

I reused the bolts on my personal car...no clunks. I have reused them on many other installs that I have done, and so long as you torque them to the proper specifications.....no clunking at all.

yah it seriously sounds like a waste of money to buy all new bolt when the stock ones are perfectly fine. I mean they have only been used once..I can see with counless resuse you may encounter some problems! cheers Al
