I'm not really interested in gaining the HP from the forged assembly. I am more interested in the strength/durability I gain from getting some internals that can handle more boost. I saw an advertisement about 6 months ago for $3300 for a complete forged ratating assembly, installed. They have stroked it out to 5.0 but I don't recall. I think the Forum should try and find someone to give a deal to the guys on the forum or explain whats available. It seems like its almost the same cost to buy a built short block.

well the price is $1500 and from what i have looked at its a pretty good deal, not sure on how much the install would cost. I would still like to know how much power that set up would hold. I plan on getting a turbo.

I may be interested in this also, is this kit all i need to purchase in order to not worry about going over the 450rwhp mark or are there other parts i need also? Also your kits say 650+hp is that to the brakes or wheels? very interested let me know.

Chris.

Hello Chris,

The parts themselves are capable of handling 600 +rwhp. Now obviously, more varibles play a role in big hp. First things first.....TUNE. Others are block machine work, fasteners, etc.All of our mod 4.6 shortblocks receive an ARP main stud kit. Every block is torque plate honed, etc. We recommend also using a ARP head stud kit for forced inducted engines. I will be honest, when building one of these engines (4.6) it can become pricey. My motto is" do it rightthe first time". This maybe more $$ spent than you want to initially, But if it breaks, you will spend twice as much doing over again.
