Tire Rack has a cool little flash thingy that lets you see what tires look like on your car. You can even pick your color/trim. Go throw some 22s on it and have a look.

BTW, I'm probably wrong, but I heard that the s197 wheel wells can only support up to a 19" wheel without modification.

yep...you're wrong about that...lol... 22's are out of control IMO. I love my 20's and they look and ride great, but 22's....if you hit one little pothole with those things[:@]

I think you'll need to get an 8" lift kit for this to work. Are your rims gold? It's waste of time putting 22s on a Stang if they aren't gold because they won't stand out enough against the 18s. People will think you have 18s unless they're gold spoke 22s.

Have you considered color-change paint to go with the setup? I think color change paint would go great with the gold spoke 22s. Get about 3 15s, or even a couple of 18s, in the trunk and you'll be good to go!

You need two 15" subs first in a bandpass box pushing at least 4000W. Then cut the springs, add some underglow.

22s will bolt right on then with those modifications.

I'm half joking but most people here are intrested in making their car faster, not horidly slower.

There was a picture floating around of a mustang with 20/22's. It looked stupid, mostly due to the crazy thin tire in the back.

I hate to do it, but if you are looking to put 22's on a GT, i'm afraid i'm going to have to revoke your membership in the cool car ownersclub.

Don't make me have to ask twice.[:@]

I'm not a fan of 22s either but don't let these guys get to you. If 22s are what you want, do your research and buy them. There are no modifications needed as long as your tires are very low profile. The actual diameter of the wheels makes no difference at all. The actual diameter of 22s is about 23.5" edge to edge, so that leaves about 2" of tire....not very much.

You have guys on here sporting GT body parts on a V6, or sporting Cobra badges on a GT, or any number of ridiculous modifications. Don't get me wrong, I think 22" wheels are ridiculous too, but it's your car...don't make it the car that others want....make it the one YOU want.
