Default Best hypothetical $1000 bolt-on combo

From my reading here, I'm guessing:

1) CAI
2) Tuner w/ 3tune package
3) Lightweight single piece driveshaft

Thoughts?

Hmm I would definitly say CAI.
Definitly need a tune...wouldnt say 3 but a tune yes.

And well, driveshaft.... I would be more inclined to do gears first if you want some bang for the buck. But thats just me lol.

uh......the prices may be a little bit iffy, but i'd say

1) JLT II CAI/tune package from brenspeed
2) FRPP 4.30's
3) SLP Loudmouth axlebacks

it might not be exactly 1000 depending on where u get it and install and stuff, but on that price scale, you can't beat this combo.

The gears aren't something I could (or would) do myself, and based on the cost whenI had them done to my 5.0, they would put the package out of the quoted price range.

And the axlebacks are mostly thunder and little lightening from what I've heard around here.

very true, but as far as simple bolt ons go, they're worth mentioning.

You should be able to do a CAI/Tune and gears for maybe $1200. Thats not to far outta the price range, at least I wouldn't think so.

And I'd have to agree with AmericanMuscle, a little thunder is good lol.

what is your ultimate long-term goal? i think that should be the first place to start here.....before we all start telling you to get this and get that. for me, i knew i was getting a S/C - but at first i ALMOST bought a CAI without realizing that it would become USELESS (for me) once i got to that point. so, i simply saved for a couple more months and just bought the Whipple. that should keep me "happy" for a couple more.......weeks

i think gears would be a safe bet, no matter which power adders you put on down the road.

i would have to agree that a tune and gears would be the first two then get a driveshaft. i ran 13.0's with just a tune(no cai), gears and one of my aluminum driveshafts. if i would have had doug's tunefrombamachips it would have run well into the 12's and thats with stock pirelli tires and no suspension mods.
you may com in just under your $1000
driveshaft $479 from me
tune about $400? depending on the options and vendor

My longterm goal is to keep the car streetable as a daily driver and be able to mod the car incrementally in my driveway without my wife noticing the money missing!

I have a modded 5.0 that is decommissioned, so to speak, so I'm not a novice modder, I'm just learning a new game.

1) CAI
2) Tuner w/ 3 tune package
3) Rear End Gears
The abovewill pretty much eat up the thousand.

Items below could possibly be given to you by freinds and relatives.
4) Aluminum DS
5) LCA's and UCA
6) Wider tires than stock.

One Jack in the Box antenna ball (w/ smile) free.
