Well after 2 weeks of driving, after basically getting tunes to work somewhat, I am bringing my newly Saleen"ized" mustang gt into Justin at VMP to have it custom tuned. I am going to wash my hands of the canned tunes that were done and drive 105 miles to VMP to have my car tuned by someone who knows how to tune these cars in SCT mode. not diabolo, Now you all may say, wait didnt you already have it custom tuned by a local guy, the answer is not really as the guy could not figure it out right (IMO) he did not want to put the time into it. So I have heard great things about VMP and since he is somewhat local to me..what the heck.....I will post results on Thursday. After that I may still get a dyno run at coastal (SAM is a great guy) Just soI can post apples to apples, as this is where I had my dyno run done before with just the CAI, TUNE AND HEADERS....just to see the improvement etc....

I myself will be putting on the 9.5 lb pulley this week, and having it re-dynotuned...so I'll be able to see the difference with the different boost levels....

Kinda like a mini Round 2!

Are you getting it tuned on Thursday? I wonder if he could dyno my car on Thursday as well. I've been thinking about driving down there, but it's a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive for me.

Yeah I knew I was going up in boost the day we had it on the dyno and she only wanted to put out 400 ponies... I said from the beginning if 450 or so is the max the motor can handle without FI's then that's where we're gunna take her to...

The owner of the shop was gunna try and get Saleen to send him a free pulley cause we didn't use their tune... It's been a full week and he hasn't heard back from Saleen (go figure right!) so I overnighted air mail express delivery the 3.4 (9.5lbs) pulley and a belt... Sick of waiting for Saleen...

Get er done!

Tom, help please when you say SCT vs Diablo what do you mean? Why is one better than the other? My local shop with the dyno uses Diablo. Is that bad?

 

some say yes...some say no...Diablo is throwing there tuners at people to tune with them. allot of the tuners in my immediate area are diablo...I have just had SCT...that is my reasoning for it. Others will tell you diablo sux or whatever..I on the other hand can not as I have never had one...its funny...the reason I even went with my sct almost a year ago was because one of the companies I was going to buy my C&L CAI from were back ordered on the tuners so I went with Fred from EVO and got his package...so thats the scientific way I ended up with SCT...my lack of patience..I do not regret it either..allot of the NATIONAL Tuners are SCT...at least allot from these forums. I wish I could advise you better on the differences. But i truly do not know..I just know what I have and it would be unfair of me to talk bad about diablo when I know nothing either way about it..Tom

 

I hate to say it, but I had some bad experiences with Justin @ VMP. His customer service is poor to say the least.
With that said, I know plenty of others who swear by his tunes. I'm sure theres exceptions with every good vendor.

can you pm me as to what was poor about his customer service...was your tune bad....did you not get properly tuned???issues with his tunes...Support after a tuning what....please pm me if you dont want to state publicly,. but I dont know Justin from Adam...I am getting my tune from him based on people reccommending him..and hearing good things about him...I have heard nothing but good about him but know there are always unhappy individuals....so please advise. as you are already out there saying you had bad experiences...what were they...
