IMO there two differnt motors and cars. a 4.6L making 300hp and a 6.1L making 425. Differnt price range also, if you want to compare car and motor. do the gt500; a 5.4L sc vs a NA 6.1L and two cars that cost the same ( well before mark ups

well, lets talk about gt500, sick car by d way, but as i seen in the net, not better than 12.5 stock, average high 12s to low 13s, rigth where the srt8 are stock, 75hp less, 4 door over 4k pounds and n/a, we still in the same game, correct me if im wrong but thats what i have seen

yeah thats so fking stupid, and in the same time i feel proud my car is compared to an SRT-8, why ? cause no one fkin compares the S197 GT to the 5.7 hemi charger cuz even they know GT stangs > 5.7 Hemi chargers, so what do they do ? compare their different class sport car to the GT. They need that to be able to keep up or gain a little advantage over us, why not compare always the 5.7 hemi vs the 4.6 Gt and the 6.1 hemi vs the 5.4 shelby ? thats how things are, direct comparison... and in both ways Ford > Dodge.

It still weighs around 700lbs more than a mustang. It's hardly a car you want to buy to go fast. You'll need a supercharger to get to 400+rwhp, but you'll still weigh a lot less and have paid a lot less.

we are lucky for now that we r the only muscle car out there, but when dodge releases their challange next year and gm its camaro, oh my ford better do something serious about this s197 because they will be left in dust againg like previous years, we all know that since 1993 when gm introduced the LT1 that was it for stang and in 1998 with it LS1 (God's right hand muscle car) stangs where the inferior of sport car here

yeah moosestangwe paid a lot less but got a lot less 2, and like i said before, go to dodge web site, with the rebates and a little negotation (if you know the invoice price) u will get one 4 about 35k, thats just 1k or 2k more than a convertible

I wouldn't count my challengers before they're hatched, but here's a nice article about the challenger super stock concept. The car is just plain awesome to look at. It's almost to close to the old challenger.

Who wants a convertible? I paid $25k for my car. If I throw $10k at it I could kill anything. That's a supercharger and forged short block. Believe me, you aren't getting any deal by buying a srt8 if you really want to go fast. The s197's are a much better platform to start with.

You need to go to your dealer and price some GT convertibles, they are cheaper than you think.

moosestang remember that the suspension and braking, transmission and many other extras that the stang doest bring, cheeper feel and looks, the quality in wich both vehicles are manufactured are day and nigh, and that justified the extra $$$, remember 6k will get an srt8 a supercharger and push over 500rwhp without having to forge internal and with plenty more romm to grow, another 5k and a package of heads, cams, maninfol will trow u over 600rwhp, still have the 4 door and runnng high 10s, come on give the car a break. also no need to upgrade suspension and brakes like we do. put it like this remenber the 96' impalas, this srt8 are the 07 impalas, i have seen those impalas running really hard,and its a 4 door
