It looks like they will finish the car today, so I can't get it tuned until early next week now--that pretty much kills any hope of hitting the track this weekend. If the weather is good next weekI hope to hit the track Friday at Capital or Sunday at Mason-Dixon, and see if I can generate some better numbers. My son and I were at Mason-Dixon last Sunday as guests of the Northern Virginia Mustang Club. They rent out the track one Sunday morning a month. We got 13 runs in 3 hours, and that's with taking breaks. We're competing on who can get to the 12s faster without a power add, just bolt-ons and top end work on the engine. He spanked me in his 87 Mustang GT on Sunday with a 13.2, and the best I could pull was a 13.6. I think the cams will get me closer to his numbers, and then I can start tweaking the suspension, replace the driveshaft, UDPs, etc.

I'll post the dyno numbers after the cams are done and I'm tuned, and see what day works for everyone at the track.

See you soon Twister...

John
are you an automatic? i ran 13.52 stock, and i hit 12.80 with my c&l, xcal2, hpype, and M/T's. my goal is 12.50 by ocean city cruise weekend... i haven't been to the track in a year so i have added a few more mods...

Read this from Brenspeed's sight.
http://www.brenspeed.com/tech/compcams.html

In one of the paragraphs they mention that their car is tunning the 3.73 gears with the Comp Cam stage 3. So I would say yes.

Nope, a 5-speed. Everyone says I should be at 13 flat or in the twelves already with my mods (see link below signature image) but I run 13.6 all day long. And that's with 1.90 60fts MT ET Streets. I'm using a shift light, which isn't optimized for each gear, so I'm probably losing time in there. I got a LOT of top end, but it's the first 1/8 that's the problem.

I'll figure it out!

is there a read up on how much hp gains to the wheels you would get with the BBR cams? the comp cams says about 350 with full exhaust, pulleys, delete plates, gears, intake and tune and stage 3 cams by comp cams.... but about BBR?>

yea, thats the other cam shafts I was considering, by BBR. Those are nice. I saw a video of an automatic GT with intake, tune, stage 2 BBR cams, 4.10 gears, x pipe and catback beat a supercharged saleen and an evo. Thats pretty sick... Is BBR cams stage 2 would be nice if not stage 3 comp cams.
I'm about to order those stage 3's.

These 3v's seem like they can handle alot more than the 2v's can. Just for a 2v to have cams it seems like you need so much sh*t done and it costs an arm and a leg.

The three valves respond very nicely to a cam and spring change.I have done three sets so far, mine and two others. As for Comp stage three, they are good for 40 hp with good bolt ons, l/t's etc. I got 345/333 with mine after a good tune. I have seen people say that they require no tuning and I say B.S. I had to add fuel to mine to get the a/f good so I could drive it to the tuner shop. As for the BBR cams, while I researched what I wanted, I could find no real world numbers on them and heard many statements about them being regrinds and that the numbers are highly inflated from BBR. I have yet to see any real world numbers. I can't say that those statements are correct, but I decided to go with a reputable company that had years of experience R&Ding cams.

I have the factory Ford camchange workshop manuals linked in my mods page for anyone interested.
