Default Economy plates

With a proper tune from Fred at evolution, will the steeda economy plates be a worthy mod? About 140$ for... what ...8hp? Does that sound about right?

Yep on all accounts. I would say they are worth it other might disagree. At 99 they were a sure bet. Even at 140 its still not bad.

Well, I believe im gonna go ahead with it. They say if you have the rubber gaskets all it will take is a couple of basic tools to install them.

That is correct. You can reuse the gaskets and basic hand tools is all you need.

the site claims they have better low end torque so I'm guessing unlike the other plates, these don't need a change in gears?

I suppose so... but I believe im gonna move to frpp 4.10 this summer. Im trying to keep up with those damn z28 camaros. Those carsrespond so well to any mods...I guess because their engines were not made as efficient as ours...in terms of hp.
