Default 07 GT jacking

OK gents!! I am ready to install my new shifter. Looked in the manual I ordered for jacking points. It says that there are 4 points 2 per side, 1 in back of front wheel and 1 in front of back wheel where the side valences are notched out. There is some dialog about where not to jack.

So, where do I jack if I want to but jack stands on these points? And won't that maybe crush the welded sheet metal? It is 90 deg to the jack standflange.

So, are ramps the only way to get the front end up enough to crawl under to install the shifter? Looks like it to me. What is your experience?

I don't know, but think about those front end alignment shops. You pull in, and they swing those arm things underneath and raise the car. Are they on the sub-frame?

Do a search for jacking or jacking points and you will find several good threads.

I'll be installing a shifter soon too, will I be able to do it if I put the front end up on some ramps?

Yes, you use ramps and have enough clearance to do the job.
