I was thinking on going with 3.73 on my 5spd. I drive the car everyday, so I didnt want to go to high (4.10) will I notice anything with 3.73's?
Trust me you would notice the difference with the 3:55s'. Yes I think the 3:73s' would lanch that ****er pretty hard.

Anyone here in Palatka, FL that has 4.10 gears? I'd like to try before I buy. It's either 4.10 gears or drag radials + rims, I doubt i'll be able to swing both.

Everyone says 3.73 and 4.10's are so good for acceleration, but when I mention it for my S/C'd car people say it's too much. Wouldn't it just launch that much harder? I have M/T tires, so I'm not worried about traction.

Does it pull just as hard, from 85-120ish?

I mean, I like to take it out on the highway and I like how my car pulls on certain cars from 80-130+

But with the 4.10's if the car falls flat on its face, I don't want them.

On a manuals197 with a 27.25inch tall tire,4.10's at the very least maybe even 4.30's. When i had my 2004 mustang gt at 6k rpms in fourth gear top speed was about 110mph, now on my 2006 top speed in fourth gear with the 4.10's at 6400rpm is 125mph which is plenty for me. 90-125mph should pull very hard all the way to 6400rpms.

I haven't had my car over 100 since I got the gears but damn the time to get there is zilch. Modular81 did you mean 5th gear going 125 or 4th? Also to the supercharger guy from everyone I have read here on the forums say that the 4:10 gear with a supercharger has traction problems.

In fourth gear top speed is about 125mph at 6400-6500rpms.Fifth gear top speed is drag limited, but a friend of mine with 4.10's with basic boltons got to 5500rpms in 5th gear which had the speedo pegged at 145. I estimated he wasdoing about 155mph or more.

I know one thing the 4:10 gears make your car a lot more torque and I feel it in the triple digits. I like the the car better when it was stock (3:55's)then the 4:10s'if I'm going with the top end speeds. But I'm a launch man and street racer so to speak.

3.73's is not that big of a jump for the stock 3.55 gear cars. . . 4.10's helped the low end greatly . . . but the very top end is suffering. . .

if you get into a race after 125 mph. . . you're **** outta luck. . . but who races at those speeds anyway right. . . ha ha

i went from 4th to 5th at 125 mph and that was redline . . . 5th gear does pull a lot hard though . . . but not like 4th did at 125 with the 3.55 gear . . .

also, my 80 mph kicks are sweet up to 125, thats about where 4th starts . . . so yeah, 80mph and up still ok till 125

i don't think i want to be going from 4th to 5th at 112 w/ the 4.30's . . . no thanks, i like shifting, but not that much lol
