I always wave or beep the horn twice to other Mustang owners.

One thing I have noticed is that there are a lot of old women driving Mustangs............I mean really old!
(around my age, 60 and older)

I pull up along side some Mustangs and look over and say to myself.............wholy crap..........man, she's an old one.
But, what makes my day is these old ladies looking back at me and smiling from ear to ear.

The young Mustang lady owners act like the Corvette ladies..............dont even acknowledge your presence. Or, maybe they look at me and say..........holy crap............man, he's an old one.
Well played.

A few weeks ago a new edge Mach 1 rolled up next to me, and we were both going about 40 mph. I rolled down my window and gave him a thumbs up, "as in nice ride" and he took it as "Lets Race"! He honked 3 times, and he blew me away.

no waves, knods, thumbs up or any other salutation from me. I just drive. I will acknowledge other people though if I like their car. Most of the time I've got my big cheezy grin on giving them a thumbs up. Yesterday I had a Lifted F-350 try to race me so I down shifted put a few lenghts on it and back out of it. Guy in the truck was all happy and gave me a big *** thumbs up. I gave him one in return. But other mustang owners eh not really. I look at the modified ones, but if it's stock I dont' really bother. TOO MANY OF THEM IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD.

I laughed when I read this cuz I had a guy in a Dodge pickup, (dont know which one it was), but anyway he tried to race me so I just put a few lengths on him and would let him catch back up and then do it again, then when he got next to me at the light he had the kool-aid smile going haha but as for other Mustang drivers I find myself giving thumbs up most of the time to the newer ones, not that I don't respect the older ones but they don't seem to be as friendly, seems they just want to race me and kill me lol and dirtydeedsinc, why look down on a V6 when he tries to race you? What if he is supercharged and can beat you? Just wondering that's all. But I do get what you mean about the you shouldn't even try attitude lol I feel that way always with them damn ricer's, but I get the satisfaction out of showing them what a real car sounds and drives like : )

I used to wave / give a thumbs up, but I grew tired of the majority of responses I got (glares, MTV amateur gangsta-wannabe looks, middle-finger salutes, etc.).
If I see something 'special', like a Saleen or heavily modified Cobra I'll definitely flash a thumbs up.
Other than that, it seemsthe stereotype that's been laid on most Mustang drivers appears to be true in my experience (present company most certainly excluded), so basically Iignore them all now.
My Jeep, on the other hand ...

I dont look down on anyone but only wave to the 05-07 GT's..........too many v6's out there to wave to them all. And if i see another Roush i flash my lights also. So far not one Roush has flashed back or waved , but i will keep flashing.

I'll usually wave or thumbs-up or flash my lights at s197's, classics, and if I especially like the particular car, sn95's (no offense to fox-bodies, but alot of times I just don't realize its a Mustang)

I got one of those MTV jerks in a '96ish mustang today, he just sneered at me.

Also, what is the stereotype for a Mustang driver? I've never heard it.

I sort of pic and choose the one's I wave at. What I find interesting (I've only had mine for a week) is how many other makes are giving me a wave. I've had a Camaro SS and a Trans Am give me waves or thumbs ups recently. Kinda cool.
