car (engine) started shaking
Hi,
I have a 2007 GT with 1500 miles on it.
Yesterday when I was driving on the freeway my car suddenly started to shake a little bit when I accelerated. I took the next exit and stopped at a red light. The engine was definetely shaking but it still had the full power. The RPM was normal too.
I turned off my car and turned it on again and the shaking was gone.
What was that? The car is almost new. It didn't happen again since yesterday.

Could be a coil. My past experience with Fords at the shop is that OCCASIONALLY coils freak out a bit. Turning it off and back on can "reset", for lack of a better term, and it can be fine. Usually when they go bad, they go bad, and thats the end of it. If the check engine light didnt come on, there is a slim chance the ECU kept a record of what it was for a few start cycles. Just depends on what it was. If it was a coil, it will show up as a misfire on a particular cylinder.
Only way to know for sure is to wait until it happens again and get a scanner/code reader and plug it in WHILE it is happening.
