trbl filling coolant
I just instld the WMS CAI which involved draining the coolant to relocate the overflow tank. But i'm having trbl getting all the new coolant back in to replace what I drained. I have an 07, so the plumbing is different. Anybody got any ideas on this? thanks

I installed the WMS on my '05. What problem are you having filling the coolant?
Did you start by filling from the engine block plug? I believe the instructions have you start from there, and when full there, move to filling from the overflow tank.

Here's a shot of the cap on my '06. It was in the same place on my '05. I know they change the setup on the '07, but I think this is in the same place.
If you can't tell from the picture, that's on the driver's side of the engine just next to and below the throttle body.

I really appreciate that, but mine is just the elbow going to the thermostat i guess. The bad thing is I called the local Ford dealer and they said they have to use a special purge machine and even then sometimes air gets in the line and they've blown motors ($26,000 worth). I asked about the cap and they said the coolant tank is the only place to fill.

That's right! Sorry, I forgot that they moved the thermostat housing to that location.
Keep in mind that the goal of filling from the old vent cap location was to fill the radiator from the bottom up so that you don't get air trapped in the bottom like you would if you fill from the top down.
I'm no car mechanic (was a helicopter mechanic in the Army), so don't take my advice without confirming for yourself. That said; can you disconnect the coolant hose that runs up from the bottom of radiator from the thermostat housing? If you can do that, then I would think that you could use a funnel to pour your coolant down that hose until it's almost full, and then reconnect it to the thermostat housing. Be sure to leave the cap off of your coolant reservoir when you do to make sure that air can escape.
Then once you have that full, finish filling from the coolant reservoir.
I would think that should do the trick, but again, I'm not mechanic so I can't warranty that my advice is correct.
Does anyone else out there have any ideas?
