STOCK TUNE AND OCTANE
I have been told by my dealer here that I can use 93 octane on my stock tune to stop the pinging and guess what? it does!! Can I harm the engine with the high octane?? My dealer checked the computer and I have the latest spark knock software already!!

I dont know about the 05-07 mustangs but ingeneral using the stock tune with the higher octane doesnt really bu you anything except a fuel bill that explodes exponentialy.

I disagree. My car ran just fine on 87 with the stock tune. It is designed to run on that octane and it's right there in the manual.
Your dealer has a problem they need to address with your car. You should not have to pay an extra .20 a gallon forever to fix their problem.
They need to try again.

+1. Your car should NOT ping!
Our cars are designed to run on 87 octane and they have built in knock sensors that will retard timing to compensate. There is either 1) definitely something wrong with your vehicle, 2) something wrong with the fuel your using, try switching stations 3) you're always driving in too high a gear, bogging the engine or 4)what you're hearing isn't pinging at all, perhaps something else?
Anyway, you're the first I've heard have pinging with a completely stock car.
