How many of you have gotten speeding tickets etc in your new Mustang? It's so easy to go fast in these cars I was just curious. I've got one from trying to catch up to a Vette. 65 in a 45 on the outskirts of town.
Also got it for sqealing my tires which was bull, because I was at a stoplight out on the highway and all I did was sqeek the Mickey Thompson's. They really grab. I think he just wanted to get his stupid quota to look good for his boss.

I've had my 01 GT for 2 years and have gotten 3 tickets in it, and I've had the 05 GT for about 6 weeks and have had 0 tickets in it. The whole "quota" thing is b.s, they dont have one and dont have to meet one. I work for the Sheriffs Office and know a few Deputies who havent given any tickets in about a month. If there isnt any crime or speeding, or anything being done wrong, than you cant give out tickets.

actually in some areas they do have a quota but it isn't stated in briefing but it is encouraged to go out and pull many people over in a short period of time. I learned this from a detective friend of mine. But no I have had the car for a year and no tickets so far. I admit I baby the thing and save the rest for the track.

Let's see, here in L.A.(the speed trap capitol), I got 2 radar-trap tickets in my '05 black GT, then in my '06 Tungsten GT 2 more(one from behind, I was actually drunk, but played it off very well, no DUI, no, not proud, it was a wake up call!) and another in a speed trap. So all in all 4 tickets in 27 months(ouch!), although three were taken off via traffic school( I had to ask the judge for one to be allowed for dismissal through traffic school because I am a driver for the city of L.A. and can't have more than 2 points on my record). So only one point right now, phew! It's tough when there's so many speed traps by all the little cities that circle L.A.(most are on 30 & 35 mphspeed limit streetsand the car will idle in 4th/5th gears at those speeds, so one's really not driving since no throttle is being applied[:@]). Motorcycle cops are the worst, their whole existence is traffic enforcement, meaning, writing speeding tickets(told to me by a patrol car policeman), and to think I cheered for Ponch & John on CHiPs!

I've never heard of there being "quotas" anymore. I heard the reason is because since there is so much more crime occuring and so many more traffic offenders, that most officers are gonna give atleast 1 ticket per day and if not one every other day. I know here where I live there isnt a "quota", maybe for bigger cities, but I doubt it.

actually I rarely see motorcycle cops in the city anymore, except for when they're going after people who drive in the righthand bus lanes during peak traffic times. Usually there's so many crimes being committed around here -graffitti, panhandling, drug dealing and usage, disturbing the peace, littering, pollutting... welcome to West LA! All this going on within one block of here, and they charge $2000+ month for rent!

The only time I got one was when I was cruising on PCH in Malibu behind someone doing just 10 mph over the ridiculously slow posted 50 mph limit.

I don't drive too much in the suburbs, where I imagine they are more eager to go after hotrodding Mustangs.

I was thinking maybe bigger cities would have it, but then again they're so damn busy they would make quota almost everytime, but I guess you never know these days.

I have had my car since oct of 06 and no speeding tickets yet, although I have had the lights flashed at me to warn me to slow down.
