Yes and no. They both yield the same HP numbers. The $300 version is CNC machined and have slightly bigger openings than the frrp/econo plates. With that said 99% of the threads you read about delete plates are talking about the "econo" version which works just fine. Hopefully that answered your Q's.

 

You can do that and weld the holes....i just paid the 90 for them before they became a big mod.

 

I've noticed alot of the S/C guys that havent "deleted" the butterflys, wouldnt this be a big benefit for a S/C setup?? Afterall, you are trying to cram all the air you can into the engine.
It makes me wonder if they're actually that restrictive.
Just a thought, I'll admit I'm a little confused by these things.

 

Most s/c setups delete them as part of the kit...they dont have to buy the plates.

It is a very wise mod to have with FI. Most kits delete them anyway. Centri's and turbos should do it on their own.

They are supposed to be open at WOT so with FI it really isn't a matter of getting more airflow - it's matter of eliminating the chance for them to stick.

 

The twinscrew setups take care of it already but the Centris then you would need to purchase the plates.
