Default Whipple problems?

I was over at one of the other forums and I noticed that several people were complaining about their Whipple HO SC kits shredding belts... any of the Whipple owners here have this problem?

I have been running mine since mid January with typical street driving and about 12 passes at the strip without any belt problems.

Hope it stays that way...

I read this forum quite often. In the past couple of weeks I've seen 2 reports, one concerning a Saleen and another a whipple.
Personally I have a Whipple @ 12 psi and after 3000 miles the belt looks like new, no dust no signs of wear.

it's only been about 8 weeks for me, but
the belt looks brand new......

i wonder if the belt shredding issues, are related to the idler pulley.....

added: the idler pulley gets changed out, when the whipple pulley
gets smaller than the 10psi size......at least that's how i understand
the manual diagram....

I'm still up in the air as to choosing between the Saleen and the Whipple. I'm shooting for 425+- RWHP and I know either kit can do it. Saleen seems pretty easy to install, but so does the Whipple. Does the whipple have a higher boost capability? I know it sounds bad ***..

Eventually my choice will ultimately come down to who's seeling the less expesnive product between Saleen/Whipple/Kenne Bell. All just dreaming at this point though [&o] Since I'm not chanying internals when I do this and it's my dd I'll keep it at artound 400-425 as well.

Are Turbo's easier to install than S/C?
I heard they also require less maintanance
but then again i also heard they make less hp than a s/c

Fact or fiction?

Turbos actually have about the same HP gains or better IMO and their Torque is ALOT better than a s/c. pretty much no maintance and if you want to turn the boost up you flip a switch or turn a ****. no blet changing or throwing belts...i'd take a turbo over a s/c any day
