Anyone dyno a stock GT with a Saleen SC to know what they put out (roughly)?
I've got a stock GT auto with the saleen s/c putting down 400 to the wheels. I plan on eventually adding everyhting i mentioned above, first off probably being LTs wich should let me hit the 420s, then i can up the boost another 7 psi, follwong the rule of thum of approximatley 10 hp per psi thats another 70hp puttin me in the 490s, proabbly more in the 470-480 range, then it's time to look at the bottom end and tranny for me. Then more add-ons.

Just be careful of Shelby GT500's. You may be able to beat a stock one with a little more work, but most people that buy the GT500also perform mods and get even bigger returns (5.4l vs 4.6l). It doesn't take a lot to get 550 - 600rwhp from them and people who can afford them in the first place usually can afford to mod them.

Yup, I know with a GT 500 as a "base" you can make some crazy numbers... I don't expect to compete with those guys... but I sure would like to be able to hang with (or dust off) some guy that bought a stock one thinking he was the *****.
If they put out 420 RWHP stock, then I'd like to end up in the 450-475 RWHP range.

I love the GT 500 (and all Mustangs) but since I can'ty find one to buy for less than 15K over sticker I figure half that 15K into my motor will get me somewhere. Yeah it won't be a "Shelby" but I think even old Shelby himself is more just about going faster than what it says on the trunk lid (or at least that is my impression of him).

This is easy. Injectors, plugs,MAF, BAP, 3.2" pulley. All can be had for less than $1,000.
After that, if you're still not satisfied, 4.10s + driveshaft can be had for less than an additonal $1,000.

Hmmm, what will it have cost, when it's finally as daily drivable and able to hold a gt500?
(with the s/c)

Mike,

The gears are not going to hurt you like you think they will. I would guess that 4.10s are a little much for a car with a supercharger, but the 3.73s or even 3.90s would be fine for you. those gears are not much lower (higher numbers) than the stock gears. You'll keep your car in the optimum power range and get it there faster with a new set of gears.

Or, you can wait another 6 months and hunt for a used GT500. I am sure you'll be able to find one at that time, and I have seen a few on Ebay for "fair" prices. I think the CAI for the GT500 adds like 130 HP or some ridiculous amount like that.

Well, it seems like it will run me about 3-4K in upgrades. Then add the 4K in the SC I already have and the car at I paid 30K for is: $38K
Cheapest GT500 conv I could find was $65K

I know the GT 500 has a 6 speed and all, but that isn't what I'm interested in. I just want to not be left in the dirt by a stock GT 500 if the situation comes up. :-)
Seems like I'm not as far off as I thought I was.

www.teamjdm.com Get their 450hp package, you got the hardest part done allready. I'm sure the saleen tune sucks *****.

The eaton isnt that great in the gt500 the times arnt that impressive , for it you could def, build a gt to be a lot quicker than a stock gt500 the only problem youll have is when people start modding the gt500s quite a bit once you take off the eaton and slap on a KB your talking some serious serious power. But theres just not enough going around for people to start modding them a lot
