Ok, so many ford representatives search mustang sites to get new ideas.
So here's the deal, say what can ford improve, where should they head in the future, as well as other ideas.


I will start by saying the ford 5.0 should come back, be redesigned and be able to compete with other high-performance vehicles. For example, a small 3 liter import engine could have as much power as our 4.6. Also, I would like to see a unit that changes the tune, already built in the car.

Second, the suspension needs to be redesigned to be great for all conditions, no wheel hop, and no flimsey parts.

Third, the weight of the mustangs needs to be dropped while still maintaining strength.

More airbags couldn't hurt either.

Fourth, the gear ratios suck on the s197's. Either go to 4.10 ratio, or stick in a six-speed.




So, what do you think could be done to improve the mustang????

The only thing I think that the mustangs really need more is IRS and a bigger engine more like a 5.4 4v, leave the 6 speeds for the GT500. Trust me 6 speeds aren't that great and unless you reallly want to cruise in 6th. My s2k and rx-8 are 6 speeds and I used to use 6th alot but since i got the stang i realized 6th is next to useless.

They should make ourengine able to handle more power.
Skylineengine can handle something like 1000HP stock.
Ourengine can only handle half of that.

has anyone looked at that 07 fastback threat? if u have they should a mustang likethat with a 5.0 engine and some better suspension.

4V all around,especially in the V6. (anyone else notice that Ford's other V6s don't suck as much)
I'm happy with the gears, some people actually like 3.55s. I do think that the 3.31s are worthless though.
I've always liked the T56. So T56 + 4.10s would be awesome.
Replace the noisy 2pc DS
Replace the remote shifter with a more direct linkage

Not much else I can really think of...

We need more HP in the regular GT, More like 400 as the competition, also better quality interior parts!! Most of our leather is leatherette......also Ford needs to put a stop to price gouging on their specialty models, this is a COMPLETE RIPOFF!!

5.4L w/forged internals, 3.55's as the factory gear set(instead of 3.31's) and make 3.73's the $100-$300option,and as stated above kill the price gouging on the specialty models.....

Bring back the 5.0 for the regular Mustang GT. It can keep the 3v SOHC heads but should have forged internals. Should have at least 350 hp to compete with the new competitors.

Offer a 5.4 aluminum V8 with 4v DOHC heads with forged internals. Should have at least 425 hp to compete with SRT8s and mid-level GM offerings. Label it the Boss 330.

Leave the 5.4 supercharged GT500 as is.

How about making the 03/04 terminator motor the standard motor for GT's. Upgrade it to 2009/10 specs, Im sure they could easily sqeeze another 20-30 hp out of it from the factory. They could (under)rate it around 400-410 hp. Throw in the T56 6 speed too and make 14" brakes standard as well. Also, have an option where people could delete the rear seat, radio, A/C, etc from the car to lighten it up.
