Default check engine light p0430

I get a p0430 code w/ check engine light. as far as I know this is passenger side rear O2 sensor. could be: cat not working, O2 sensor not working, or exhaust leak. this sensor is also exhaust temp sensor. being as I have no cats, the O2 sensors are ok, and noexhaust leak, could turning of the exhaust temp sensor fix the problem? or any other solutions?

Did you not get a tune or mil eliminators when you got the O/R x pipe? Removing the cats will set a CEL

You shouldn't. Who did the tune?

If they are turned off then you shouldn't be getting this code. i guess your Cats arn't operating efficiently, time to replace them, LOL!

You have long tubes which normally causes a CEL too because the top drivers O2 is further down the exhaust now also....

My 02 gt shoots the same code. I have an O/R H. What will the emissions obdII computer read if you delete the p0430 with a tuner?

Regards emissions testing: the OBD-II port test checks two things 1) "Readiness" and 2) no emissions related CELs. The "Readiness" test checks to see if all the emissions sensors are ready to be tested. If the O2 sensors are off you will fail. If you have a DTC, like P0430, and clear it and then get the test right away...again you will fail the readiness portion of the test. You would need to clear the DTC, drive the car through a couple cycles (off/on, drive for a couple hrs) and then get tested.

here is some food for thought i have had the same problem along with lots of others. alot of people ave changed out the cam postioning sensors but id didn't fix the problem. the alternators in our car r know for having bad diodes in the back and then do not provide enough amp or volt to the sensor, it make the sensor get a false reading so they have changed out there alternators had have not had the code again. if you do a search on here there is a couple of topics and there is also a tsb on it. i hope this helps.

Are your tunes custom tunes from a tuner or are they canned sct tunes. The reason I ask is because the only sensors that monitor catalyst efficiency are the rear 02 sensors and by reading the description of the p0430 code, this makes me think thatthe rear o2's aren't turned off in the tune properly. Also is the tune setup for longtube headers(ie; adjusting the air/fuel ratio and the front o2 sensors transport delay because they are placed further down the exhaust stream than there original location).
