Default Hurst Shifter problem?

This may sound stupid and I am going to have my installer look at the shifter Monday or Tuesday, but that shifter is very stiff, and you actually have to pull and push pretty hard on the shifter for it to shift. Its not grinding gears or popping out of gear. Has anyone else have a similiar issue or is this just the way the Hurst shifters are?

let me know how it goes. I was thinking of getting a hurst SS shifter next. but if it's hard shifting, may want to reconsider.

At this point if it cannot be fixed I will have the factory one reinstalled. I am not happy with it at all.

Its pretty normal for it for a little while....give it time to break in a little......the hurst is quite notchy, that is the nature and why people like it so much.....if you want smooth like butter then you should have never gotten the hurst and got the MGW instead.

Notchy is one thing, but I think there maybe something wrong with either the shifter or the install. I should find out Monday or Tuesday. I never even heard of the MGW until someone else posted something about it this morning, I would prefer something a little smoother, but I will give it a couple of weeks, I can't take the car to the track until the new clutch is broken in anyways.

if you have the money (assuming you do since ur getting a S/C) take out the hurst, get yourself a MGW or Steeda Tri Ax.

Ive tried the hurst, and i own a tri-ax. Huge amazing difference between the two. the steeda is smoother, billit, has 2 positions for throw on it, and shifter stops. The MGW is still my fav even though its the only one i havent tried out because it has everything the tri ax has except its throw is set by twists so you can actually set it to the exact throw you want, also Everything including the cardboard box that comes from MGW is top notch, I ordered my shift *** from them with the GT logo on the top. The shift **** fits perfectly, it came pre lubed on the inside threads, and even has a hidden hex nut on it to tighten down just so the GT logo doesnt get moved around if your shifting hard. All top notch stuff. Buy the MGW or steeda and sell your hurst on ebay, you need a real shifter with that SC

I have the Hurst, and no probs here. It's a little stiff but I guess Its ok. I get good positive shifts and have not missed a gear when shifting hard. The MGW looks like it is better though.
