X2 Live Load issues

X2 Live Load issues
Has anybody come accross the issue of not having their X2 default screen come up as "Main Menu"?? When I went to load three new tunes from Doug at B#ma, the process crapped out and left me with an error message saying: (ERROR: failed to receive data frame ack). I've read some threads on here claiming to return the car to stock before adding new tunes to the X2, but I don't want to do something I'll regret. Also, before the Live Load program failed with that message, the process was working fine, so it appeared that all of the previous tune was deleted. Does this mean that if I need to reflash my car's computer due to another DTC (which has been a real problem with the Race tune), that I will not be able to do so? The three original tunes still show up in the load bank on live load after I receive the error message, so I'm not sure if the one I was trying to replace is still good or not?? Can I still use the original tunes after getting this error message on Live Load?? I've got an email out to Doug so hopefully I'll hear back soon. Can anybody shed any light on this or me?? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

RE: X2 Live Load issues
The new tune should just load over whatever is in the slot you have picked, sounds like you have a problem elsewhere. Are you positive the xcal S/N matches what Doug gave you? Based on what Ive read these days you'll hear from him in about a week....I dont see why you would need to return to stock I have not had to and I have replaced a tune on my xcal and I have reloaded tunes onto the car a couple times now.

RE: X2 Live Load issues
Sounds like you may have an older X-cal2 and it may need to go back to SCT.
I flash cars and update X2s all the time without going back to stock first, so that is not the issue.
