Default anyone else with 3650 issues?

I just had my 3650 replaced under warranty, only had the car 3 mos and 3500 miles. Second gear was totally trashed and they decided to swap the trans out rather than repair it. Anyone else have any MT issues, requiring replacement or rebuild? p.s. I'm under 300rwhp, not pushing a crazy amount of torque through this trans...

Owe, well at least you got a new trans. How did you get them to cover it with your mods? I just have gotten to the point that if anything goes out I'm looking at it as an opportunity to upgrade

well, even if they wanted to be dicks about it, there's no way they could prove the trans went out because of my mods...I'm under 300rwhp, and the car shouldn't be generating enough torque to snap the trans...but as it were, I know a lot of people at the dealership in question, and nobody ever questioned that the car may have been abused. Yay for me!

yeah, lol...guess I'll take it easy with this trans, I don't think the next trans swap will be as no-questions-asked as this one hehe...short shifter's in the mail, that should help a little...plus I'm taking some time off from the dragstrip, I'm a little gunshy now, actually I had more fun helping fellow s197 folks at the track with their modding and driving techniques than I did beating on my own vehicle. You know what they say: those who can, do...those who can't (or won't), teach...lol!

Richie - Did you inquire on the price difference for a T-56 6-Speed? The T-56 is a much better tranny and can handle much more power.

no because my pricing on the 3650 was -0- lol...if they had tried to make the job customer pay or 50/50 I may have considered it, though...

They may have only wanted you to pay the difference between the two which would have been about $600. The labor and other parts would have been the same. Just a thought.
