Drag radial could make a huge difference, amybe up to .5 of a second based on brenspeeds infomation. You could say a stang would do 13.3 with just and intake and tune, and brenspeed reported a 12.8(with a lot of practice) with just intake tune and M.T. et streets. Thats .5 seconds right there. If it looks like it would be a close race, that dude would be an idiot to race you with slicks.

I'm pretty well versed in LS1's.....I ran 13.18 @ 107.9 bone stock in my '01 Z28, on the Goodyear GS-C's and I'm not a drag racer (2.01 60'). And 6-speeds are hard to launch because of the 2.66 1st gear and 3.42 axle ratio. Autos are easier, and the same day I was running there were 3 automatics trapping right around 107-109, and all were in the 12.8 range. Their 3.06 1st gear is helpful.

I'll refrain from posting dyno numbers because they are mis-read and mis-interpreted all the time (hell, the difference in Dynojet to Mustang dyno's is huge). But suffice to say an LS1 has a lot of nut to start with, 305 hp in an LS1 is a lot stronger than 300 or 319 out of the 4.6 3-valve.

I know this is a Mustang forum.... And I own both the Z28 and an S197 GT, and I autocross a Shelby GT. You could win, but if you do it'll be because of driver (which ought to make you feel good).

It wont even be close...until that SS gets into heads or cams, you'll continue to have him...

Post your results, but i bet you have him by atleast .4 seconds, if not more...
